Product innovation is hard and fraught with unforeseen challenges.
At Gunwerks and Revic we rigorously test all our products before we ship the first one. But when we do make a mistake we make it right by the customer.
We are public with our shortcomings because this allows past and future customers to see we stand behind the products we sell.
In this recent podcast episode Aaron Davidson sits down with the product management and engineering team to talk about the challenges with new product innovation.
In October 2023 we discovered a material failure in a limited number of Gunwerks Titanium (6IX Ti, 6IX+ Ti & 8IGHT Ti) suppressors. As a result, Gunwerks issued a recall on its titanium suppressors manufactured between August 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023. (Steel suppressors are not affected by this recall and may continue to be safely used.)
Some of the titanium material used showed age-hardening behavior that affected the microstructure evolution of stress fractures. It appears that over time, these stress fractures can cause an unintended disassembly of the suppressor during use. In some cases, a rupture could cause serious bodily injury.
Affected Gunwerks Suppressors:
6IX Ti: Serial numbers up to GW6Ti-1517
6IX+ Ti: Serial numbers up to GW6PTi-1597
8IGHT Ti: Serial numbers up to GW8Ti-1273

There have been delays getting repairs returned due to Form 3 wait times to send back to a dealer (typically 3-4 weeks), and confirming shipping addresses with recipients.
