Component Stock Magnus
Suitable for Gunsmith Installation.
DISCLAIMER
Gunwerks Component Stocks are inletted as “Gunsmith Fit”, meaning significant work is needed to achieve final fitment with your barreled action. This is work most often performed by a Gunsmith. While Gunwerks stands by the quality and build of our stocks and do our best to provide a stock inletted to fit your setup, the infinite variability of pairing our stocks with other manufacturers' products leaves too many variables for every stock to fit perfectly every time. By ordering a Gunwerks component stock, you agree that you have read and understand these conditions. We’ve provided more detail on specific inletting functions and fitment considerations at the link below.
CUSTOM FITMENT DISCLAIMER
Before ordering, please read the following additional information. Gunwerks component stocks require some level of fitment and gunsmithing to pair your barreled action with our inletted stocks and bedding blocks. While Gunwerks stands by the quality and build of our stocks and do our best to provide a stock inletted to fit your setup, the infinite variability of pairing our stocks with other manufacturers' products leaves too many variables for every stock to fit perfectly every time. As such, expect some work needed to make a perfect fit. By ordering a Gunwerks component stock, you agree that you have read and understand these conditions.
Areas Of Special Attention You Or Your Gunsmith Will Need To Custom Fit
Ejection Port
In our research setting up action inlets, most action manufacturers weren’t even able to provide specifics about inlet dimensions that fit with their own actions. To ensure best fit, we opted to leave ejection ports un-inletted. You’ll need to sand or file your stock to match the ejection port profile of your particular action
Bolt Notch
Various manufacturers offer swept or straight bolt notches, or custom variations of each. Your stock will arrive with a minimalist bolt notch cut, but may need opened up or modified to fit your particular bolt handle geometry
Rear Tang
Similar to ejection port and bolt notches, rear tang geometry varies so much from action manufacturer to manufacturer, and even from piece to piece, we opted to inlet a basic rear tang geometry that will require some filing or sanding to obtain a perfect fit. We refuse to inlet gappy or sloppy “one size fits all” inlets, so instead, opted to leave final, custom fitment to the customer or gunsmith doing the final fitting.
Barrel Channel Inlet
Gunwerks has worked with various barrel makers to model the list of available barrel channel inlets closely. Barrel channel inlets should fit well, however slight variations in shank length of the barrel, straightness of your barrel and barrel/action tenon, and a few other factors beyond our control may result in some fine tuning of fitment needed.
Bottom Metal Inlet
We’ve modeled bottom metal inlets closely, however, you may need some work done to machine pillars to fit. Badger and Hawkins M5 detachable bottom metals need some modification to clear the internal dimensions of the gunwerks internal bedding block.
